What is car audio and their limitation?
Unlike home audio where speaker drivers placement can be adjusted, main listening position (MLP) can be defined and acoustic treatment can be easily accessible, car audio is more demanding with more limitations. The MLP is localized on the right side of the car. Which make it harder for ALL speaker sound to reach your ears at the same time. In such, the sound will be very much distorted from how the intended recording should sound like.
The speaker placement has its limitation. Most of the time, we do not have the luxury to determine the sweetest spot before mounting the speaker drivers. A wrong speaker placement may result to higher sound reflection rates and frequency / sound cancellation.
The car cabin is not an ideal place for sound as there are many glass and plastic parts which is highly reflective for sound wave. For home audio, usually sound acoustic curtain or damping pad can be used to reduce the reflection. But car cabin has this limitation.
